The day started bright and clear with just a hint of wind, but
by the mid-afternoon for the Cat III race shown above, a West Texas thunderstorm
was beginning to roll through. It was, however, a great day of racing with a lot
of TBi participating to good result.

Cowtown Classic
Criterium - 5/27/2002

Jim Connally was Chief Official and ran a tight ship. Moritz
pulled out all the stops for this race and the organization, facilities and
coordination showed it.

The 35+ plus race was off first. TBi had Pierre Kerkof, Mike
Reade, Randy Wallis and Craig Hardin participating along with alumnus and Life
Member Dave Thorton.

TBi Sponsored many breaks, Mike Reade
was in the one that mattered and took second.

In the combined 45+ / 55+ race TBi fielded Don Merritt, Andy
Hollinger, Barry Klunder, Jerry Vargas, Fran Booth, and Elvin Rogers.
One of the frequent breaks and the after race gathering (where
many lies were swapped)

Typical to these "widely ranging abilities" races there
are often
very real races among those off the back.

The Cat IV event had Eddie Holsopple, Dale Young, Rich Miller,
Kyle Miller, Chris Dow and Mike Winfrey.

Tino Sonora and Joey Spragins contested the Pro/1/2 race.

In the Cat III we had Nathan Larimer,
Brian Bordovsky, Ray
Brintle, Don Merritt (one race is not enough!!!!)

The Women's Cat IV and Men's Cat V race was called due to
lightening in the area and the 35+ Cat IV/V race was held in the rain storm, so
we couldn't get pictures of those events.
