While the day threatened rain, it stayed cool and cloudy without
too much wind - a rarity for Texas in May. TBi showed up in force for the Rally
with its largest attendance at a single event to date - 30 members at
last count. The front group
continually protected TBi riders off the front. The "race" element of the Rally,
however, was significantly affected when, after about 10 miles riding on I35,
Don Merritt and a couple of others stopped the entire group (rightfully so)
thinking "this isn't right." Five minutes later, after consulting many maps and
the following Policeman, it was decided to use the next exit and get back on
course. Interestingly, even with the Interstate Detour, the mileage for
the day was almost 62 miles.

close ... pictured here and not at start is Wayne Alexander

After Barry flatted and the break reeled in, Randy went off the

We leave the front pack as it heads off toward I35 to practice

Jim Connally, took a spill during the first 10 miles. Many team
members visited him in Hughley Hospital where he was preparing to be stitched up
... Jerry Vargas interrupted Jim's story to check his vitals ...
